Zoom Recording Requirements

Zoom Recording Requirements

AutoScriptOne has a unique and powerful Zoom recording option delivering precise speaker labeling and unmatched transcription in a real-time recording platform.

Zoom Requirements

To use the Zoom recording option there is a set of criteria that must be met:
  1. You must be the host or co-host
    1. This can be obtained through a host key if necessary
  2. You must have permissions to record locally within Zoom
  3. The Zoom meeting link must have the password included in it.
    1. https://voicescript-ai.zoom.us/j/88309879186?pwd=aUa83zHuZv9bMkrbSJs4pSeuyI7dwk.1
  4. All participants must join using the Zoom desktop app, web application, or phone application.
    1. Users who join simply by dialing in from their phone will not be included in the recording.

Additional Do's and Dont's

There are some additional do's and don'ts when using the Zoom recording option in ASOne.
  1. You must open and join the Zoom meeting before opening ASOne
  2. If you have a need to record within Zoom either to the cloud or local, you cannot do this until after ASOne has joined the Zoom meeting and started recording.
  3. If you attempt to use the Zoom recording option in ASOne and you are not successful in joining and recording, this means that one of the criteria above has not been met.  Just switch to the Hybrid method of recording in ASOne.
  4. Don't try and continue with the Zoom ASOne recording session if a participant joins by simply dialing in from their phone.  They will not be included in the recording.  Switch to Hybrid recording method.
If you are looking for a simple explanation of how the Zoom Bot works that you can share with agencies you are providing services for, copy and share this explanation:

The AutoScriptOne Zoom Bot

AutoScriptOne offers a unique solution for recording Zoom proceedings through a custom Zoom SDK integration. This advanced feature allows a bot to join a Zoom meeting and capture individual audio streams from each participant, similar to Zoom’s separate audio track recording for audio-only sessions.

To use the AutoScriptOne Zoom Bot, the following conditions must be met:

  1. The reporter must either be the Zoom meeting host or have access to the host role (e.g., via a videographer).
  2. The Zoom invitation link must include the embedded password. For example:
    https://voicescript-ai.zoom.us/j/82934801680?pwd=MsPjJHve65zBbeKniwdqMCHHIEFhV8.1
  3. The reporter must have permission to record locally.

Please note: Zoom itself is not performing the recording. Instead, AutoScriptOne directly records the individual audio channels from the Zoom session.
