THE PROBLEM
If you're editing a document in AutoScript Desktop (ASD) and you see words marked with the red underline indicating the word is misspelled, but it is spelled correctly, the culprit is the proofing language set on the word being anything other than "English (United States). You can confirm this by selecting the word and then clicking [Language] on the Review tab. Then scroll down until you find which language is highlighted, as with the word "precision" in the following sample.
FIXING THE PROBLEM
To fix the problem, select the entire document contents (the default is [Ctrl]+[A]), then click Language on the Review tab, scroll down, select "English (United States)", then click [OK].
PREVENTING THE PROBLEM
This problem in introduced in two ways.
The first way it can be introduced is by copying content from a Word document that contains words with a proofing language other than English US. This is prevented by changing your settings in Word.
The other way this can be introduced is if you have an additional input method installed in Windows. You will need to either remove the additional language park -OR- select "English US" when you are typing in ASD.
You will know if you have an additional language pack installed as you will see the language control in your taskbar near the time and date.
If you click on the control, you can select the language you want to use for typing. You need to select "English (United States)" when working in ASD.
To remove the additional language, press the Windows/Start key, type "language", and open the "Language Settings".
WINDOWS 10
WINDOWS 11
Follow the steps depending on your Windows version.
WINDOWS 10

WINDOWS 11
Click the triple dots on the language you want to remove, then click "Remove".
