Why is ASOne Text Slow to Print to my Screen

Are you experiencing times where the realtime text printing to your ASOne screen seems to slow down, or maybe stop?  Are you experiencing warnings in ASOne about your internet connection?

In most cases, this is caused by internet connectivity issues or a system that does not meet the minimum requirements needed to run the software efficiently.

Minimum System Requirements for AutoScript Products

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 or AMD equivalent, 2.5 GHz or faster

  • RAM: 8 GB (16 GB recommended)

  • Storage: 256 GB SSD

  • Internet Connection: 10 Mbps upload speed (faster preferred)

  • Operating System: Windows 10 (64-bit) or newer

  • Audio: Compatible with standard USB audio class devices

  • Graphics: Integrated GPU

Check Your Internet Speed

Because AutoScriptOne is constantly writing files to your system and sending and receiving files to our servers, a stable internet connection with sufficient upload speed is essential.

You can quickly test your internet speed using a free tool such as:

  • Speedtest by Ookla

  • Fast.com

For best performance, your upload speed should be at least 10 Mbps. If your speed is significantly lower, autosaves and uploads may take longer or fail.

Reduce Background Programs

If your system is close to the minimum specifications, performance may also be affected by other programs running in the background and using the same internet connection. To improve performance while recording in AutoScriptOne, try closing unnecessary applications.

Common examples include:

  • File synchronization services such as OneDrive that continuously sync files to cloud storage

  • Email applications such as Microsoft Outlook performing scheduled send/receive operations

  • Web browsers with many open tabs

  • Any other applications that frequently use internet bandwidth or system resources

Background programs—especially those that use the internet—can significantly slow down upload and download processing. Closing unnecessary applications while working in AutoScriptOne can often improve performance and protect the record.
