If you see the exact text repeated in the transcript while recording a hybrid session in ASOne, please follow these troubleshooting options.
Is your microphone unmuted?
When using a separate USB microphone and USB speaker in a Hybrid recording session, you must mute your microphone when not speaking. Failing to do this will result in the text hitting your transcript from the sound coming out of the speaker, and then the text will hit the screen again as your unmuted microphone records the audio from the speaker, resulting in the same text printing to the screen twice.
How can you avoid this? The use of a USB conference phone can prevent this from happening.
These devices have technology that prevents the microphone from picking up the audio being heard from the speaker component.
Did you inadvertently select two microphones during the setup process?
Most computers will display multiple microphones in the "Input" list when setting up for a Hybrid ASOne recording session. You must take care not to select two microphones or speakers when on this screen. Clicking on a selected input or output device will deselect it.
When in the recording session, you should only see one option for the microphone and one option for the speaker. If you see two options for the microphone, this would be the reason for the double text.
