Time Saving Keyboard Shortcuts to Save Time Editing

Every stroke saved while editing rough-draft transcripts in AutoScript Desktop Editor is time you get back.  

Users have shared some of their favorite keyboard shortcuts with us that, once mastered, save them a tremendous amount of time when editing.

Select text from the cursor to the left margin
Shift+Home

Select text from the cursor to the right Margin

Shift+End

Select a word to the right of the cursor

Ctrl_Shift+right arrow

Select a word to the left of the cursor

Ctrl+Shift+left arrow

Move the cursor a word at a time

Ctrl+Right or left arrow

Move the cursor a paragraph at a time

Ctrl+Up or down arrow

Capitalize the first letter of the word to the right of the cursor

Shift+F4

Undo last action

Ctrl+Z

Open the Navigation/Find Panel

Ctrl+F

Moves to the next found entry

F3

Moves to the previous found entry

Shift+F3

Open the Find/Replace panel

Ctrl+H

Go to a specific page

Ctrl+G

Increase the paragraph indent by the size of one tab

TAB

Inserts a tab character

Ctrl+TAB

Turn Track changes on or off

Ctrl+Shift+E


Give it a try.  Pick one or two new shortcuts to try for a week.  Once mastered, add one or two more.
