Once you have multiple jobs, you may find it a bit difficult to find the job you're looking for. But there are a few features in the Job List to help you out. Let's look at all of them.
Job List - Search
In every Job List, you'll see a handy Search box at the top right of the page next to your personal icon (sample pic has a picture; did you read about adding that in the
Account Setup section?)
Just put your cursor in the box, and start typing. You'll see that the list is filtered to show jobs that match your search criteria. What's even better is that if you click the [Export CSV] button at the top of the page, the exported list will only include the filtered items. This can be very useful for generating custom job lists.
Job List - Sort
The Job List also has a built-in sort function. If you hover over the list headings you'll notice your mouse changes.
If you click once on a heading, the list will sort in ascending order, and an up-arrow icon will appear next to the heading you clicked. If you click the heading again, the list will sort in descending order, and a down-arrow icon will appear next to the heading. NOTE - This setting does not translate to the CSV Export; you will have to sort the list using the methods that apply to whatever program you use to open the CSV file.
At this time, only the headings circled above are available for this feature, and only one at a time. If you need a more complicated sort, you will have to do a CSV Export and sort it the way you need.
Job List - Filter
Above the Job List headings, you will notice a few buttons.
You will notice that by default, the [All] button is selected. If you click the other status buttons, you will filter the list. These can be combined to provide, for example, a list of jobs that are in Editing or Proofreading status. Like with the Search, this filter applies to the CSV Export. If you want to remove a status from the filter, just click that button again to deselect it. Clicking [All] will deselect all of the other buttons and return you to the default view
You can also sort by the date the job was submitted. Just click on the icon next to the Search box, enter the dates you need in the filter dialog boxes, and click [Apply]. There are even shortcut buttons to view jobs submitted Today, This week, or This month.
Just like all the other filters, this setting is used for the CSV Export, allowing you a good level of flexibility in creating custom lists for sharing or for use with other applications that are part of your workflow.
