ASW - Creating and Assigning Jobs - Organizations -- Training Workflow (Direct Assignment)

One method of assigning jobs to editors and proofers is the direct method. At RemoteProofs, this method is used to assign jobs to Editor Trainees. Until the trainees are qualified the Ops team will hand-pick jobs and assign them directly to trainees.

Trevor is the Training Lead on the Ops team. You may have noticed that one of the jobs Sarah drafted was intended for the Training workspace. Now that the jobs have been submitted and processed, Trevor will assign the job and move it to the Training workspace.

Trevor starts by logging in to ASW and selecting the Staging workspace. He can click the Job Title to view the Job Details where his teammates entered notes concerning which jobs should go to which workspaces. Once he's identified which job is destined for training, he clicks the Move icon (  ) and selects the Training workspace from the dialog that appears.
Trevor then selects the Training workspace and clicks the pencil icon next to the Assignee field on the job to view the Edit Assignee dialog.

From there he can click on the member in the list that he wants to assign the job to. The member's name will now appear at the top.

The list automatically filters down to only the members of the teams assigned to the workspace. He can also use the search box at the top to look for a specific member. He can also use the Teams Assigned to Workspace buttons to filter down to just the teams that he wants to see.

Trevor then ensures that Editing is checked, and he clicks the [Save] button.

Now the job list in Training is updated to reflect the assignment of the job to the trainee Jacob.

When Jacob logs in to ASW he will only see the Training workspace since he only belongs to the Editor Trainee team, and that team is only assigned to the Training workspace. Jacob will only see the job assigned to him since his team only has permission to see jobs assigned to them. He can click on the Job Title to open the Job Details where he can open the job in ASD and edit his file. When he is done, he can use the [Complete Job] button on the Home tab in ASD to upload his work back to ASW and mark the editing as complete. From there, an available Proofer will claim the job and do their part. We'll see what claiming looks like next.
